Location: Mount Waverley, Melbourne – On-site, 1-year fixed term under the R&D department, reporting to the Hardware Engineering Manager.
In This Role
Conduct design activities including robotics, PCB assemblies and system analysis, following R&D standard work processes such as planning, documentation and visual management.
Apply engineering methods and manufacturing process requirements to design components, mechanisms and assemblies to improve reliability, VAVE, compliance (e.g., RoHS) and support new product development.
Support root cause analysis and solve technical problems with instruments in production or in the field.
Prototype build: design, construct and program functional and verification testing of products.
Provide engineering support to the business in response to requests for assistance with engineering issues.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job
Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
At least 2 years of experience within highly regulated industries (medical devices, aerospace, automotive, defense).
Strong understanding of hybrid mechanical, electronic and software systems comprising sensors, micro-controllers, motors, heating/cooling systems, pneumatics and fluidics.
Hands-on experience in prototype building with design, construction and programming for functional and verification testing.
Capability to establish detailed action plans based on milestones and work autonomously to completion.
Positive, self-motivated disposition with strong sense of urgency and personal accountability.
Highly Desirable
Proficient at delivering robust, high-quality electronic solutions compliant with regulatory requirements.
Experience in medical device or other heavily regulated industries.
Familiarity with Altium and NX CAD software packages.
