About the role
As the Assistant Director at Joondalup Early Learning Centre, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Director in the overall management and operations of the service 3 days per week. The other 2 days per week will be spent job sharing the role of Room Leader in the Toddler Room alongside other highly passionate and qualified educators. In this fulltime position based in Joondalup, WA, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safety for the children in our centre.
What you'll be doing
1. Assist the Director in the day-to-day leadership and management of the centre, including staff supervision, program planning, and policy implementation
2. Contribute to the development and implementation of the centre's educational program, ensuring it aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework
3. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and the local community to promote the centre's reputation and encourage enrolments
4. Oversee the smooth operation of the centre, including rostering, risk management, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
5. Mentor and support the childcare team, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities
6. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff members
7. Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the centre's policies, procedures, and practices
What we're looking for
1. Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education
2. A proven track record of effective leadership and management
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and staff
4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the capacity to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
5. Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and other relevant regulations and standards
6. Commitment to promoting inclusive, high-quality early childhood education and care
7. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask
8. Experience with the OWNA platform highly regarded
