Fiduciary Assistant Accountant page is loaded## Fiduciary Assistant Accountantlocations: Ipswichtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: JR82**The Role**As a Fiduciary Assistant Accountant within Willis Re's small but expanding finance function, you will manage the payment, receipting and daily reconciliation process of trade balances across our regulated global reinsurance broking operations.You will work closely with Treasury, Reinsurance Operations, the Financial Controller, and the Client Money Manager to ensure that all cash transactions are processed correctly, risks are managed through the application of robust governance and controls, and regulatory requirements (including client money obligations) are met.You will play a key role in projects, including the cashiering automation / AI project to remove keystroke elements of cashiering activity.In addition to these core trade cashiering activities, you will be involved in supporting general finance activities such as preparation of reconciliations, journals and analysis – with a focus on fiduciary balances (i.e. reinsurance premium and claims).This role would therefore suit a candidate with accounting or banking experience who enjoys both the responsibility and precision of fiduciary cashiering duties, and is seeking to build on their core financial accounting and analysis knowledge. This role is a 12 month FTC and will be based at our office in Ipswich on a hybrid working basis.**Key responsibilities include:*** Supporting the daily client payment requirements across the global reinsurance broking business.* Performing cash reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies, ensuring accuracy and timely issue resolution.* Assisting in the operation and enhancement of cashiering processes, including the cashiering automation project, ensuring strong controls, auditability, and alignment with regulatory needs (e.g., UK CASS 5 client money obligations).* With support of Treasury resource, liaising with banking partners, managing internal cash transfers and assisting on general cash management activities such as providing data for liquidity analysis* Assist in general accounting reconciliation, reporting and journal activity, including fiduciary balance reconciliations and analysis* Review sales contracts to ensure revenue recognition principles are adhered to and applied consistently across the business* Assist in supporting regulatory processes and control documentation and testing* Assisting with documentation, reporting, and audit requests relating to cash operations, client money, and treasury processes.**About You**You will be a detail‐oriented, process‐driven finance professional with a strong sense of control, accuracy, and accountability. You'll bring a disciplined approach to cash management and enjoy working within a structured environment where precision is essential.**We're looking for someone who:*** Has experience in a corporate cashiering, accounts payable, treasury operations, or similar finance operations role — ideally within financial services.* Has some accounting experience or exposure beneficial – a part qualified AAT or equivalent, relevant accounting degree or other.* Demonstrates excellent numerical accuracy, strong reconciliation skills, and confidence handling large transaction volumes.* Has experience is working in a regulated environment and appreciates the standards of integrity and precision associated with that.* Is comfortable using banking portals, finance systems, and payment platforms; experience with multi‐currency operations is a plus.* Communicates clearly and works collaboratively with finance, operations, and treasury teams.* Has strong organisational skills, can manage competing priorities, and maintains composure in a fast‐paced environment.* Brings a proactive mindset—spotting issues, escalating appropriately, and suggesting improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency.**About Willis Re**We combine specialist broking with analytics, modeling and research to help insurers optimize risk transfer, strengthen balance sheets and achieve sustainable growth.
