About the Role
Hastings Deering is seeking a dedicated Health and Response Management Advisor to join our Health and Wellbeing team in Rockhampton. This is a permanent, Monday to Friday role providing frontline support in emergency response, health promotion, and injury management. This is a permanent, fulltime role located in Rockhampton.
You'll work alongside our on-site Health and Response Management Specialist Lead, receiving hands-on guidance and support as you grow in this vital role.
As a Health and Response Management Advisor, you will:
* Provide first response and advanced first aid support across the site
* Assist with early intervention and injury management, including coordinating medical treatment and return to work support
* Contribute to the delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives, including screenings, education, and campaigns
* Support the delivery of emergency management training, including first aid, fire evacuation drills, and manual handling
* Help maintain accurate and confidential injury management records in line with company policies and legislation
* Build strong working relationships across departments to support a safe, healthy, and proactive workforce
* Actively participate in team-based health promotion and injury prevention programs
* Assist with documentation and contribute to ongoing improvement in health processes and systems

About You
We're looking for a compassionate, capable health professional who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment and brings their clinical knowledge to the workplace setting.
You'll be someone who can assess and respond to injury and health concerns, confidently guide team members toward the right care pathway, and build trust with both individuals and leaders alike.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in healthcare, ideally in a GP clinic, emergency, or occupational health setting
* Qualifications in Nursing (EN or RN), Paramedic Science, or a related health field
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Drug and Alcohol Testing certification (or willingness to obtain)
* The ability to assess, triage, refer and support employees presenting with physical or psychological concerns, whether that's escalating an emergency, referring to a GP, or connecting someone with our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
* A clear, confident communication style, with the ability to manage sensitive health conversations and provide practical guidance to employees
* Experience (or a willingness to learn) in injury management processes, including Work Cover and income protection insurance
* Strong time management and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment
* A team-first attitude, always ready to learn and contribute
* Confidence to build working relationships with leading hands, supervisors, and operational leaders to support injury reporting and workplace health processes
* A passion for being visible and accessible on the floor, checking in with teams, identifying their health needs and helping shape how the Health Team supports them
Previous experience in workplace health, occupational health, or return-to-work programs is desirable, but not essential. The right person will be supported with mentoring, training, and guidance from our experienced Health and Response Management team.
