**Position Information**:
Summer Hill Public School is an inner-west city school of approximately 670 students that serves a culturally diverse and educationally aware community. Approximately 50% of our students are from a language background other than English. There is a school wide collective responsibility to maximise individual student learning outcomes. We provide knowledge, skills, values and attitudes by encouraging the growth of our students as caring individuals who enjoy learning. The pursuit of academic excellence is one of many dimensions of our school, supported by dedicated and professional staff. Teaching and learning programs are enhanced by the use of innovative technologies. We have a strong sporting culture and provide a variety of extra-curricular activities to enhance learning. We are fortunate to have a number of staff who are dedicated and committed to the arts. Our students have the opportunity to work with teachers who have specialist skills in drama and music above and beyond the standard primary school teacher. These programs are delivered school wide as our Release from Face to Face component. Drama enrichment from Year 1 to Year 6 includes a dedicated drama space, film making, dance and drama ensembles. Students have the opportunity to showcase their talents at events including performances during assemblies, our Year 6 film festival, and the State drama festival.
