Clinical Alcohol Specialist
Job Summary:
This challenging and rewarding position requires an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to deliver high-quality alcohol and drug services to the Tasmanian community.
We are a multidisciplinary team consisting of Medical Officers, Nurses, Social Workers, and consultation processes with lived-experience advocates. We work closely with the states Alcohol and/or Other Drugs (AOD) offices in Launceston and Hobart, providing excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, workforce, and community.
We provide advice and support to other agencies, consumers, families, and friends. Our care is based on harm minimisation principles.
About the Role:
The position requires a registered nurse with significant alcohol and drug experience and a working knowledge of pharmacotherapy. As part of the multidisciplinary team, the position will provide high-quality alcohol and drug services as per policies, legal requirements, and professional competencies.

* Provide high-quality alcohol and drug services to the Tasmanian community.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellence in healthcare.
* Provide advice and support to other agencies, consumers, families, and friends.
Requirements:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Extensive experience as a registered nurse with demonstrated clinical expertise in complex client treatment, substance use, and mental health within a multidisciplinary team.
* Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence-based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence, including assessment, interventions, and prevention activities.
