We are inviting expressions of interest from qualified and experienced academic professionals in Human Services Management to join our professional, tight-knit team as the Lecturer. The salary for this position is negotiable based on your expertise and experience.

**Position Summary**

The Lecturer will be responsible for delivery of face-to-face and online teaching of undergraduate course, using approaches to teaching and assessment that are underpinned by rigorous, evidence-based research into the method and practice of teaching. Duties include class preparation, the delivery of lectures, tutorials, workshops, assessments, course coordination, and student consultation. The Lecturer will be expected to provide guidance and share insights into the latest teaching techniques and knowledge with teaching colleagues in SCI. The Lecturer will contribute to the development of curriculum, new modules and course material. The Lecturer will contribute to teaching innovation at SCI and may undertake research into pedagogy in business education. This is a Teaching Specialist position.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Teaching and Learning**
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practicals, workshops.
- Contribute to the development of curriculum, new course modules and course material.
- Contribute to the development, marking and compilation of assessments, including assignments and examinations.
- Implement current best practice in approaches to teaching and assessment and, be responsive to evidence-based research and feedback on these practices.
- Contribute to teaching innovation at SCI.

**Leadership and Service**
- Contribute to a range of administrative functions, including those connected with teaching.
- Responsibilities and the conduct of the academic affairs of SCI.
- Participate in SCI meetings, seminars and student activities such as Orientation.
- Contribute to SCI committees as determined by SCI Governance Charter.
- Participate in the SCI professional development activities.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) responsibilities

**Research and Scholarship**
- Engage in and/or contribute to research and scholarship in business education.
- May seek funding support for scholarship and academic initiatives promoting innovation in business education.
- May also undertake research student supervision in an area of business and/or education and SCI or other approved institutions.

**Selection Criteria**

**Essential**
- A doctoral level qualification in Human Services Management.
- Knowledge of the ESOS Framework and the National Code 2018. If you do not currently have knowledge of ESOS Framework and the National Code, you must be willing to acquire the required knowledge.
- Proven ability, commitment and passion for engaging in ongoing scholarly activities to inform pedagogical theory and practice.
- Sound knowledge in a field of business that aligns with at least one of SCI's major areas of study (Human Services Management).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the capacity to explain material plainly and helpfully.
- A demonstrated ability in course design and leadership, as appropriate to the relevant discipline.
- Evidence of sustained and significant contributions in leading, lecturing and tutoring; and a commitment to teaching and contributing to undergraduate and/or graduate teaching.
- Ability to improvise and adapt to new demands in course delivery and academic management.
- Excellent organisational skills to coordinate the activities of all academic staff.
- A demonstrated ability to show initiative in both independent and team-based decision making.
- A demonstrated ability to interact productively with other academic staff and to contribute constructively to the activities and administration of SCI.

**Desirable**
- A PhD in one of the disciplines in business.
- A teaching qualification.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development in undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
- Proven proficiency in the use of learning management systems.
