About the Role
We are looking for a talented and driven Data Scientist / Data Engineer with a passion for financial advice and wealth management. The role is hands‐on, high‐impact, suitable for someone who thrives in a fast‐paced environment and enjoys transforming complex financial data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure.
* Develop and deploy machine learning models, predictive analytics, and statistical solutions.
* Collaborate with product, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver data‐driven outcomes.
* Maintain data quality, governance frameworks, and documentation standards.
* Analyze complex datasets related to financial advice, consumer behavior, and market trends.
* Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and data products for internal and external stakeholders.
* Stay current with AI/ML, analytics, and financial advice industry developments.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of the Australian financial advice ecosystem, including AFSL structures, advisers, product platforms, and regulatory frameworks (FASEA, DDO, Best Interests Duty).
* Hands‐on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and workflow orchestration tools.
* Strong Python programming skills for data processing, modelling, and analysis.
* Practical experience in statistics, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain insights to technical and non‐technical audiences.
Preferred / Highly Regarded
* Experience in financial advice technology, wealth management, or fintech.
* Familiarity with ASIC data sources and the Financial Advisers Register.
* Experience building data products or analytics platforms in commercial environments.
* Exposure to NLP and unstructured data analysis.
* Previous startup or scale‐up experience.
