Gippsland's Forest and Fire Programs Spealist planning team delivers tactical planning for major forest and fire management initiatives, including Strategic Fuel Breaks, large‑scale hazardous tree treatment and regeneration programs.

We are seeking a Senior Specialist Planner to plan and support the delivery of complex, high‑impact forest and fire management projects across the region, ensuring compliance with legislation and DEECA policy. The role involves preparing high‑quality planning and procurement documentation and working closely with regional and specialist planning teams to improve planning processes and project outcomes. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to cultural safety by fostering inclusive, respectful environments free from racism and discrimination.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

* Knowledge of operational delivery of forest management programs/services
* Tertiary qualifications in natural resource or environmental management, or public policy (desirable)
* Experience working with planning systems including FMS, eMAP and ArcGIS (or similar)

This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within the Gippsland Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
