About us
Smartways provides a range of high value-add bespoke logistics services and outsourced solutions for the medical and healthcare industry in Australia. Our core business is time sensitive transport of medical equipment leveraging the route density between the medical device companies and hospitals. We have successfully created a complete independent transport network that can service every hospital, clinic and laboratory in Australia and New Zealand.
About the role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, be the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong long-lasting relationships with clients. You will identify and develop new business opportunities and collaborate with our internal teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new clients.
Your core responsibilities will include:
• Manage a portfolio of accounts in the medical device industry, including maintaining relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets
• Collaborate with the operations and customer service teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of our logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our clients' businesses, including their products, markets, and supply chain challenges
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity and develop strategies to maintain our competitive advantage and build relationships with new clients
• Analyse supply chain process and make recommendations to improve efficiency
• Provide operational and financial insights to a variety of stakeholders and support tenders, pricing and presentations based on customer requirements
What we are looking for
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience doing account management in logistics, transport, supply chain management (Experience in the medical device industry is a differential)
• Demonstrated experience in B2B negotiations and client engagement
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business opportunities
• Understanding of revenue models, rate cards, P/L, cost-to-serve and commercial analytics
• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement and manage contracts and/or agreements
