Level 1/2 Desktop Support Engineer - Retail
We're looking for a hands-on Level 1/2 Desktop Support Engineer to join a fast-paced environment. This is a highly on-site role focused on keeping warehouse and end-user technology running smoothly across hardware, devices, and basic network infrastructure.
This role suits someone who enjoys being on the floor, troubleshooting in real time, and supporting operational teams in a high-volume environment.
What you'll be doing
* Providing Level 1/2 desktop and end-user support to warehouse and office staff
* Troubleshooting hardware including desktops, laptops, scanners, printers, label printers, kiosks, and handheld devices
* Supporting warehouse technology such as RF scanners, POS peripherals, and conveyor-related systems (IT support side)
* Building, imaging, deploying, and replacing devices, including asset management
* Assisting with basic network troubleshooting (connectivity issues, switches, patching, cabling, Wi-Fi access points)
* Working with central IT teams and vendors to escalate and resolve issues
* Supporting Microsoft environments (Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Microsoft 365)
* Managing incidents and service requests through a ticketing system, ensuring SLAs are met
* Providing on-site support for warehouse moves, changes, and operational upgrades
* Documenting fixes, processes, and recurring issues
What we're looking for
* Experience in a Level 1/2 Desktop Support or IT Support role
* Strong hands-on hardware support experience, ideally in a warehouse, retail, or operational environment
* Exposure to basic networking (switches, patch panels, cabling, Wi-Fi troubleshooting)
* Solid knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
* Experience supporting printers, scanners, and mobile or handheld devices
* Comfortable working in a physical, fast-moving warehouse environment
* Strong communication skills and confidence supporting non-technical users
* Ability to work independently on-site and prioritise issues in a high-volume setting
Nice to have
* Experience in retail, logistics, or fulfilment centres
* Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing systems
* Basic understanding of VLANs, DHCP, or network monitoring tools
