About the Role
PKKP is seeking a Community Health & Programs Specialist to support the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of community-led initiatives. This role is primarily focused on community programs, with health and wellbeing forming a supporting component.
You will contribute to programs across culture, education, employment, social services, and community engagement, while supporting members to access relevant health and wellbeing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, deliver, and evaluate community programs and coordinate events that strengthen participation, wellbeing, knowledge, and cultural connection.
* Engage with members and develop relationships to understand community needs and tailor community-responsive program delivery.
* Assist in planning, monitoring, and reporting of program outcomes.
* Support health-related initiatives as part of broader community programs.
* Build and maintain partnerships with service providers, stakeholders, and community networks.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in program design and delivery.
* Identify emerging needs, advocate for community, and strengthen access to services.
Selection Criteria
Essential
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage across diverse groups
* High level of cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal communities
* Ability to manage time effectively and respond to enquiries promptly
* Comfortable handling confidential information
* Current Driver's Licence and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
* Willingness to travel as required
Desirable
* Tertiary qualifications in Community Development or a community-related field
* Comprehensive experience in community program coordination or delivery, ideally in Aboriginal or remote communities
* Understanding of community health and wellbeing programs
* Familiarity with local service providers and networks
