Full time Laboratory Technician – Haematology Department – Clayton Laboratory
We are looking for a full time Laboratory Technician to join our Clayton laboratory in the Haematology department. The role is fast‑paced, requires accuracy, a strong customer focus and the ability to work as part of a dedicated team. Applicants must be flexible, punctual, self‑motivated, display initiative, work well with minimal supervision and be willing to participate in a rotating roster that includes afternoon, weekend and public holiday shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure that all WH&S requirements are observed.
* Process samples within the Haematology Laboratory, ensuring instrumentation and assays are optimal.
* Verify and validate patient results.
* Maintain a high‑quality, team‑focused, accurate and efficient work environment.
* Prioritise specimens by interpreting referrals and clinical notes.
* Determine the correct sample requirements for requested tests.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualification in Medical Technician or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a clinical laboratory in the Haematology field desirable.
* High attention to detail and experience working within KPIs.
* Enthusiastic and flexible approach to work.
* Ability to multitask and work successfully as part of a team.
* Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to contribute towards the delivery of customer‑focused services.
