About the role
We are seeking an experienced Dairy Farm Hand for a busy dairy farm situated in Tasmania's beautiful and charismatic North-East. This hands-on role is full-time and involves completing a variety of activities to support the effective delivery of day-to-day farm operations. Tasks include:
- All aspects of milking.
- Animal husbandry.
- Calf rearing and management.
- Pasture management.
- Machinery operation.
- Farm maintenance (fencing, water systems, pastures) and general farm upkeep.
- Operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Working collaboratively with the farm team and other key stakeholders.
To be successful you will have
- Hands-on dairy farm experience to match farm task requirements (min. 2 years).
- Demonstrated ability and a familiarity with all farm task requirements.
- Previous experience milking in a rotary dairy operation.
- Strong understanding of animal welfare practices.
- Proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Personal commitment to working in a safe and healthy workplace that values its people, animals and environment.
- A willingness to learn, be well organised, punctual, and reliable.
- Confidence to work independently and in a small team.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including working in a range of adverse conditions i.e. hot, cold and wet weather.
- Current driver’s licence.
