Bwgcolman Community School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our team. As part of Queensland's Wellbeing Workforce, you'll work closely with students and families, providing vital support for mild to moderate mental health concerns. You'll collaborate within our student support team to enhance access to wellbeing and mental health services, helping create a stronger, healthier school community. Who We Are
Bwgcolman Community School is a National Partnership Kindergarten to Year 12 school located on tropical Palm Island, 65km north-northwest of Townsville in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Formerly known as Palm Island State School, the school was renamed to Bwgcolman Community School to better reflect the vital role the local community plays in their children's education. The school\'s motto, "2 Way Strong," captures the vision of students confidently engaging with the global community while staying strong in their Palm Island culture and identity.

Responsibilities
* Undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
* Administer specialised psycho-educational assessment of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties including assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning.
* Coordinate or assist in the implementation of specific professional in-service training programs for teachers, parents, schools and other professionals, both within and outside the department, for example - Supporting students\' mental health and wellbeing.
* Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
