The Role
We are seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join our drafting team. This role is responsible for producing accurate, production-ready cabinetry drawings, coordinating material requirements, and supporting smooth job flow from design through to manufacturing and installation.
You will work closely with management, factory staff, installers, and suppliers to ensure drawings align with installation schedules and jobs are prepared correctly before production.
Key Responsibilities:
Drafting & Design
* Prepare accurate cabinetry drawings using Cabinet Vision.
* Ensure drawings are complete, clear, and aligned with production requirements.
* Review installation schedules daily to prioritize drawings accordingly.
* Amend drawings where required following site or production feedback.
* Maintain and enhance the Cabinet Vision drafting system, updating cabinetry libraries, build standards, and hardware settings while supporting ongoing program improvements.
Job Coordination & Material Ordering
* Prepare and complete material ordering requirements in line with job timelines.
* Ensure materials are ordered in advance of assembly schedules.
* Maintain accurate ordering records within job folders.
* Identify and report backorders or supplier issues promptly.
Communication & Issue Management
* Liaise with factory staff, installers, supervisors, and management to confirm job requirements.
* Raise potential design, material, or timing issues early to avoid delays.
* Support clear communication between drafting and production teams.
Quality & Process Support
* Maintain high attention to detail to minimise production errors.
* Follow internal processes and ordering templates.
* Contribute to ongoing improvements in drafting and workflow efficiency.
Role Requirements
* Minimum 2–3 years drafting experience within cabinet making or joinery.
* Proficient in Cabinet Vision (or similar cabinetry software).
* Strong understanding of cabinetry construction and installation processes.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Current driver’s licence preferred.
Performance Expectations
* Drawings completed in line with installation priorities.
* Material orders placed within required timeframes.
* Issues or delays reported promptly.
* Drawings aligned with production requirements to minimise rework.
