About the Role
">

1. The successful candidate will be an individual contributor acting as the in-house subject matter expert responsible for providing cost management across a portfolio of fast-paced construction projects.

2. This includes managing 3rd party Quantity Surveyors, supporting the preparation of operational plan budgets, and validating external construction cost estimates.
">
3. The role also involves implementing procurement strategies and guidelines, leading post-contract construction commercial management, and monitoring adherence against company expenditure limits.
">
4. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to deliver results for multiple projects with competing priorities and travel up to 25%.

Key Responsibilities
">
">
* Engage and manage 3rd party Quantity Surveyors, including assisting with procurement, managing resource allocation, supporting regular QBRs, and reviewing/approving payment of invoices.
">
* Support the preparation of operational plan budgets, including detailed cost forecasting, benchmarking analysis, and presentation to Leadership.
">
* Provide commercial support necessary for capital appropriation requests, including consolidating commercial information to support requests to Leadership.
">
* Validate external construction cost estimates at various stages of design process.
">
* Support project teams on implementing procurement strategies and guidelines.
">
* Support with the preparation of standardized General Contractor (GC) tender documents, support procurement teams with the tender process, participate in tender evaluations, and development of the GC tender recommendation and appointment.
">
* Lead post-contract construction commercial management, including providing guidance and recommendations on GC pay applications, change order evaluations, final account closeout, and on projects.
">
* Lead monthly cost reporting reviews, monitoring against approved capital requests throughout the PLC.
">
* Identify project risks and the financial cost impacts associated and communicate to the team.
">
* Monitor adherence against company expenditure limits and policy.

Requirements
">
">
* Bachelor's degree in a related field.
">
* Experienced in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and CSA cost elements.
">
* Experience with Data Center or other mission-critical construction environments.
">
">
Preferred Qualifications
">
">
* Strong construction knowledge, able to dive deep into aspects of construction scope and understand the cost of core elements, with a particular focus on Mechanical and Electrical costs.
">
* Experience reviewing and justifying budgets and estimates, utilizing cost data and metrics for analysis and reporting.
">
* Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Onscreen take-off, Timberline, and Bluebeam.
">
* RICS accreditation.
