We are seeking a suitably qualified Logistics Officer – Integrated Logistics Services Level 3 to support the Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems Joint & Air SPO.
About the Role
The EWIS Joint & Air SPO is responsible for the acquisition and through-life support of Electromagnetic Warfare capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. This role supports the CA36 sustainment program, focusing on inventory, supply chain, procurement, configuration support, logistics reporting and operational sustainment activities.
Program & Requirements
* Program: EWIS Joint & Air SPO / CA36
* Clearance: NV1 required, with uplift to NV2 required
* ITAR Requirement: Must be eligible to access US export‐controlled materiel
* Eligibility: Must not have worked full‐time for Defence in the last 12 months as APS or ADF
Core Purpose of the Role
The Logistics Officer will deliver inventory planning, procurement, and supply chain support to ensure efficient logistics performance across Defence operations. This includes:
* Inventory planning and stock control
* Procurement and sparing support
* Configuration and systems support
* Operational logistics support to end‐user units
* Ensuring efficient logistics performance across Defence operations
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
Key responsibilities include:
* Undertake inventory planning and management across routine and contingency operations
* Maintain optimal stock levels and support supply network performance
* Assist with codification activities to support accurate item tracking
* Support stock visibility, availability and effective product flow
* Contribute to sustainable inventory outcomes across Defence supply networks
* Conduct procurement activities to support cost‐effective inventory outcomes
* Document procurement and sparing decisions to ensure traceability
* Support cross‐levelling of stock across supply networks
* Assist with supply chain coordination and logistics planning
* Support procurement decisions that align with sustainment and operational needs
* Generate and maintain logistics performance reports
* Analyse logistics and supply chain data to support decision‐making
* Provide reporting to support sustainment outcomes and supply performance
* Identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
* Support evidence‐based logistics planning and operational readiness
* Support baseline hardware and software configuration requirements
* Assist with mission system configuration changes and software tracking
* Support serviceability activities, including updates, audits and tracking
* Help maintain accurate records across configuration and sustainment activities
* Support tracking of mission system changes and logistics impacts
* Provide logistics support to end‐user units, including receipting, dispatch and freight coordination
* Liaise with Field Service Representatives, end‐user units and Capability Managers
* Support sustainment activities across Defence operations
* Coordinate logistics inputs for delivery, sustainment and testing activities
* Support practical logistics outcomes in an operational Defence environment
* Support repairs, swaps and fault tracking activities
* Assist with RODUM‐related logistics and fault management processes
* Support Personal Communications Systems disposal activities
* Assist with serviceability, stock condition and disposal coordination
* Support accurate documentation for maintenance and disposal decisions
* Build and maintain productive relationships across Defence stakeholder groups
* Engage with APS, ADF, contractor, FSR, EUU and Capability Manager stakeholders
* Support delivery, sustainment and testing coordination
* Communicate clearly across logistics, technical and operational teams
* Contribute to effective sustainment outcomes through strong relationship management
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
* Strong experience in Defence inventory management and supply chain frameworks
* Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
* or 5+ years' relevant logistics experience
* 4+ years' military logistics experience in lieu of a degree
* Minimum 2 years' experience in procurement or supply chain
* Strong computing skills, including Excel, Word, MS Project and databases
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to work onsite in Toowoomba at least 4 days per week
* Current NV1 clearance with ability to uplift to NV2
* Eligibility to access US export‐controlled materiel under ITAR requirements

Eligibility & Security Requirements
Candidates must hold a minimum NV1 security clearance and be able to uplift to NV2. Candidates must also be eligible to access US export‐controlled materiel under ITAR requirements. This opportunity requires candidates to have not worked full‐time for Defence in the last 12 months as APS or ADF.
Compensation
Recommended competitive rate: about $140 per hour including superannuation.
