Chubb Bunbury is seeking a Vehicle Fire Suppression Technician to provide product support and technical services within the Fire Suppression industry in the South West region. The Fire Suppression Business maintains a firm commitment to the quality objectives for the company and promotes business through exceptional customer service and relationships. As a Vehicle Fire Suppression Technician, you will be required to install, service and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems within the South West area.
We are looking for someone who is committed to customer service, teamwork and adapting to the role quickly – potentially working in a new industry. Full training will be provided but you may come from a similar role or have trade experience as a motor mechanic, heavy duty diesel mechanic, auto electrician or even a mechanical enthusiast – but your attitude will play a large part in your application and your success.
The Role
* Relevant trade qualifications such as Diesel mechanic or Auto electrical is desirable but not essential. Direct knowledge and exposure to fire suppression systems is also desirable but not critical to this role, VOC and RTO training will be available in house. However, installation and service experience of Mobile Fire Suppression systems will be a distinct advantage. In addition, having your Cert ll in fire protection inspection and testing and being accredited by the Fire Protection Association (FPA) will also be desirable.
* The ideal candidate will have strong customer relation skills and the ability to effectively work within a team. You are flexible to work with customer requirements, procedures, and safety policies. Further, you have a positive attitude and a high level of determination to achieve targets set for customer satisfaction.
To be successful
* Perform fault diagnosis, maintain, and install Fire Suppression systems
* Work effectively either in a team environment or autonomously
* Be highly developed in your communication and interpersonal skills
* Assist with machine audits/inspections
* Basic computer literacy incl. E-mail, Microsoft Excel and Word exposure
* Current drivers license and ability to undertake an at times very physical role.
* Knowledge of Australian standards and codes relevant to the fire industry would be desirable.
* Able to pass full pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screen and police clearance.
