The role

Position Details

  • 12-month parental leave position
  • Full time (76 hours per fortnight) - part time considered
  • Social Worker Grade 3, Year 1-4 (SC31-SC34)
  • Located at Caulfield Hospital – Acquired Brain Injury Community Rehabilitation Service

If you're an experienced Social Worker looking for meaningful, complex work in a supportive specialist service, this is an opportunity to join the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Rehabilitation team at Caulfield Hospital.

This role offers variety, autonomy, and genuine impact – supporting people and families as they navigate life after brain injury.

Position Summary

  • Provide high-quality psychosocial assessment, intervention and care planning
  • Support clients and families with complex discharge planning, adjustment to illness and community reintegration
  • Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Provide clinical supervision to staff and Social Work students
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Experience Required

Essential

  • Qualification in Social Work and eligibility for AASW membership
  • Demonstrated experience in rehabilitation, disability, or complex health settings
  • Experience working effectively within interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision and support staff development
  • Strong assessment, care planning, and communication skills
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence

Desirable

  • Experience in community-based rehabilitation
  • Experience contributing to quality improvement or service development
  • Postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) in a relevant clinical area
