Guided bythe recommendations of the Royal Commission into Early ChildhoodEducation and Care, the Office for Early Childhood Development isthe steward of the early childhood development system in SouthAustralia.

TheOffice is tasked with a significant responsibility: bringingtogether a holistic, connected system for early childhooddevelopment across South Australia, with the goal of reducing therate of children entering school developmental vulnerable. Criticalto this is the roll-out of universal 3-year-old preschool from2026, giving every child access to 2 years of teacher-led,play-based early learning before school.

About thisrole:

The Directorate Support Officer plays a key role inensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Changeand Local Partnerships Directorate. This position provideshigh-level administrative and coordination support to the Assistant Director, managing schedules, meetings,correspondence, and key business processes. The role involvesliaising with internal and external stakeholders, supportingday-to-day activities of the directorate, and assisting with HR,finance, and business improvement initiatives. You will be thego-to person for coordination and administrative support. Your rolesupports the statewide network of Local to operate effectively bymanaging diaries, communications, meetings, and business systems,while responding proactively to emerging issues and urgentmatters.

As a Directorate Support Officer, you will:

* coordinate theAssistant Director’s diary, travel, meetings, andcorrespondence, ensuring priorities are effectivelymanaged.
* provideadministrative and secretariat support, includingminute-taking, meeting prep, and follow-up on actionitems.
* maintain key systemsfor information management, communications, and file tracking(email, files, records).
* support with HR andfinance functions including recruitment assistance, invoiceprocessing, and leave reconciliation.
* contribute tobusiness improvement initiatives and assist with smallprojects, research, and stakeholder engagement.
* provide flexiblesupport across the broader division during high-volume periodsor competing priorities.
* build and maintainstrong working relationships with internal and externalstakeholders.

To besuccessful in this role, you will demonstrate:

* Initiative& judgement: Capable of working under limiteddirection, using sound judgement, discretion, andinitiative.
* Technologyproficiency: Experience with tools such as MicrosoftOffice, SharePoint, Objective, BASWARE, and other governmentsystems.
* Strongcoordination skills: Comfortable managing logistics,correspondence, and follow-up actions with accuracy andattention to detail.

You willwork with the Assistant Director, Change and Local Partnerships andcollaborate across the Office of Early Childhood Development tosupport effective operations of the directorate. Other keystakeholders include:

* Local Teams acrossthe state
* Business Support andCorporate Services teams
* Government andnon-Government stakeholders and communityorganisations

Remuneration:

ASO4-$76,561 -$80,256(1.0 FTE) per annum, plus superannuation.
