Construction Estimator Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to join our team in preparing accurate and competitive tender bids, supporting project financials, and contributing to the success of high-profile construction projects.
About the Role:
* Assist in the preparation of high-quality tender submissions and cost estimates.
* Conduct quantity take-offs and cost planning for various trades and scopes.
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
* Support the Senior Estimator in evaluating documentation and identifying inconsistencies.
* Participate in post-award financial tasks and variation assessments.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, WHS standards, and industry regulations.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating department.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of high-quality tender submissions and cost estimates, conducting quantity take-offs and cost planning for various trades and scopes, liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, and ensuring compliance with company policies, WHS standards, and industry regulations.
Requirements:
* Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship is required.
* 5 + years' experience in a similar role within commercial construction industry is essential.
* Experience working on complex commercial projects valued over $30m is highly regarded.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to build strong relationships.
* Growth mindset and a genuine desire to develop professionally within a team environment.
* A background in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is highly regarded.
Qualifications:
* Tertiary Qualifications in Quantity Surveying and/or Construction Management are required.
* White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Awareness are required.
* Full Australian Driver's License and Own Vehicle are required.
