La Vera's cheese-related activities have continued to grow, expanding and aligning to the market growth of the gourmet sector and heightened interest in Italian-style artisanal cheeses across the Australian food sector. Under new leadership, the La Vera Group has an un-wavering commitment to quality and increasing production capability and after a strategic review, it's been determined to commence a recruitment and search process to appoint a high-caliber Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as the organisation embarks on the next phase of growth and evolution.
The Position
Reporting to the Directors, the role will be a key member of the La Vera Group leadership team, charged with strategically developing, leading and implementing the growth strategy across Australia, via direct contact with key retailers, food-service and commercial partners, building brand awareness, leading sales and marketing initiatives and working with distributors to grow and exceed sales budgets. You will have responsibility for providing marketing and promotional activities of the La Vera cheese portfolio through your ability to analyse and monitor product sales, margins, consumer trends and forecasts. This role has full operational responsibility for all Sales, Marketing, Finance, Production and HR activities to ensure business growth and success. The position carries full P&L responsibility, cashflow analysis and forecasting, ensuring operational excellence and profitability. Relationships with retail buyers, distributors and suppliers are to be further cultivated and strengthened through high level leadership, engagement and satisfaction.
The Successful Candidate
In terms of personal attributes, the person must have the ability to interact well with all team members, Directors, management and have a collaborative and transparent relationship with the Board. Patience, resilience, respect, an open and task‐orientated approach to managing multi‐talks and competing agendas is essential. They will further enhance the organisational culture by living and leading the company values of excellence, quality, positivity, love, communication, kindness, work ethic, professionalism, fun and family. Furthermore, the ability to network effectively, both professionally and socially within the gourmet food channel will be highly regarded. With a recognised degree‐level qualification in Commerce, Finance, Manufacturing/ Production or a Food Science discipline, the successful candidate will have demonstrated success in a similar role gained within the Dairy/ Italian Artisan Cheese or aligned FMCG sector. Previous background and appreciation of working with a dynamic family business and in a small team environment would be well regarded.
