We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Manager to join our team on a portfolio of prison projects.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects and contribute to the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective infrastructure solutions.
As a Mechanical Design Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all design information is reviewed and delivered in line with our design management procedures.
You will oversee the production, control, and distribution of design information at different project stages and ensure regular progress reporting of the design.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing design teams, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and delivering projects to time, cost, and quality targets.
In addition, you will be responsible for capturing business knowledge and capability to enable continuous improvement, innovation, and improved capability within our Engineering Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting consultant teams to maximise their effectiveness and value optimisation in the provision of integrated design solutions.
* Reviewing design delivery to enhance quality of solutions and efficiency of design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, and handover.
* Managing consultancies and information and change control.
* Capturing business knowledge and capability to enable continuous improvement, innovation, and improved capability.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, excellent communication and project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A first degree in Mechanical Discipline is essential, along with relevant construction related qualifications and design-related experience.
