About the Opportunity
As the Regional Safety Coordinator, you will work as part of a small collaborative team to support safety and wellbeing initiatives across the MCM Group. You'll also be aligned to an area/portfolio (region) of programs ensuring that initiatives land and that incidents, hazards and near misses are responded to and supported ensuring staff wellbeing is prioritised.
As part of that alignment, this role will be required to engage in travelling to and working from sites, with 50% of your time each fortnight spent working on site. This will include each Wednesday at our South Melbourne Head Office with the other onsite days spread across your aligned portfolio. Travel to Gippsland locations such as Morwell, Warragul and some outer locations will be required as well as periodic travel to inner west locations.
About you
This is a great role for someone who has a few years of safety experience and is ready to build on those skills and experiences with a role where you can really get to know the safety culture in your region.
We are looking for someone who can:
* Demonstrate a good understanding of work health and safety legislation and who has their Cert IV in WHS
* Coordinate workplace safety programs and compliance activities, demonstrating a high attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Communicate clearly both in writing and verbally with their stakeholders.
* Has excellent administration skills who can drive their workplan
* Has a valid driver's license and can travel to locations across Victoria.
* Exposure to working in health and human services is advantageous but not required.

Essential:
* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (BSB41419) with strong technical knowledge of the Victorian OHS Act and associated regulations.
* Demonstrated experience in a Work Health and Safety role within a complex operational environment.
* Current driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle, and capacity to travel regularly across Victorian sites.
* Proven ability to coordinate workplace safety compliance activities, cyclic safety programs, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives, with confidence engaging operational leaders and stakeholders.
* Experience supporting psychological health and wellbeing initiatives in the workplace.
* Exposure to Return-to-Work coordination and injury management processes.
Screening Criteria:
* National Police check
* Working with Children check and NDIS Worker Screening check or ability to obtain
* Valid Victorian Driver's license
* Right to Work in Australia
