Senior Ecological Consultant

">

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecological Consultant to join our team. As a senior member of our ecological group, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality environmental services to our clients.

">
">
* You will be responsible for leading and managing ecological impact assessments, baseline studies, and monitoring programs for various projects across different sectors, including energy, resources, transport, water, and future communities.
">
* You will conduct field surveys to identify, assess, and monitor ecological values, including fauna habitat mapping, species identification, threatened species surveys, and biocondition assessments.
">
* You will develop avoidance and mitigation plans, assess significant residual impacts, and provide biodiversity offset solutions in accordance with guidelines and legislation.
">
* You will apply the principles of threatened species legislation, policy, management, conservation, and recovery plans to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
">
* You will work closely with clients to drive sustainable environmental outcomes on major projects, developing relationships with industry networks, government leaders, and university partners.
">
* You will participate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver best outcomes for clients, community, and the environment.

Requirements

">
">
* A tertiary qualification in Zoology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or Conservation Biology, coupled with professional experience in ecological impact assessment, management, and monitoring, and biodiversity offsets.
">
* At least 5 years' experience in a similar role in consulting or Local/State government, with a proven track record in planning, coordination, and management of environmental projects.
">
* Demonstrated field survey capabilities, including fauna habitat mapping, species identification, threatened species surveys, and biocondition assessments.
">
* Knowledge of QLD and Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy with respect to listed matters, management, and offsetting.
">
* Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
">
* Strong networking and client relationship management skills.
