Midwifery Birth Centre Midwife Position

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based maternity care to women in our community. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with obstetricians, paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver primary care to low-risk pregnant women and their families, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
* Work collaboratively with obstetricians and paediatricians to provide comprehensive care to women with complex needs
* Participate in on-call rosters to provide 24/7 emergency coverage and support to expectant mothers
* Contribute to education and training programs for midwifery students and junior staff members
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and interventions
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as a Registered Midwife
* Endorsement to prescribe schedule 2, 3, 5, and 8 medications required for midwifery practice
* Minimum 2 years' experience in midwifery practice, preferably in a hospital setting
* Demonstrated expertise in continuity of care, particularly in the antenatal and postnatal periods
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
