This opportunity is ideal for a Human Resources Generalist who has a flair for talent acquisition but equally enjoys being hands-on across the full employee lifecycle.

As our Human Resources Officer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring high‑quality HR services across recruitment, onboarding, policy development and HR administration as well as employee performance, capability and engagement. You'll have the opportunity to take the lead on various HR projects and process improvements that enhance the employee experience.

This permanent position is offered at 4 days per week (or equivalent). We respect that you have a life outside of work and are keen to work with you to find the balance for both you and Iona College.

Your Role as our Human Resources Officer:

* Manage end‑to‑end recruitment activities, including job advertisement preparation, candidate management, interview coordination, and pre-boarding
* Deliver a professional and seamless onboarding experience for new employees
* Manage HR-related administrative processes and HR documentation including employee contracts, variations and records, Work Cover, Blue Card register and compliance documentation
* Review, update, and support the development of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines
* Provide sound HR advice to leaders and employees on a range of people matters
* Contributing to audits and reporting by preparing documentation and ad hoc analyses
* Deliver HR projects that strengthen employee engagement, compliance, and process efficiency across the employee lifecycle
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems, workflows, and practice through workforce analytics and benchmarking


About You:


You are a confident HR practitioner with a curious, proactive mind and a genuine passion for making a difference for our people. Ideally you have:

* Proven experience as a HR generalist in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a particular skillset in talent acquisition and onboarding
* Demonstrated experience with drafting HR documentation, such as employee contracts and HR policies
* Experience interpreting enterprise agreements with the ability to translate this into policy development and HR advice
* Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations - you stay up to date with HR legislative changes
* Familiarity with HRIS and/or payroll systems; TASS experience well regarded
* Facilitation skills - you are comfortable designing and presenting sessions with employees
* Strong organisational skills - you're a natural at prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
* High integrity and discretion - you manage employee information confidentiality and sensitively
* AI and Tech savvy - you know how to utilise software and AI to achieve efficiencies
* Commitment to supporting the values of Catholic education
* Current paid Queensland Working with Children Blue Card or eligibility to acquire
* A HR degree or studying towards a HR discipline will be highly regarded
