Total remuneration up to $156,253. Base salary ranges from $90,177 to $137,861, plus leave loading and employer's superannuation contribution. Base salary above minimum available depending on experience.

Relocation support up to $5–8K.

About the School

Coonamble High School is a comprehensive co-education high school with an enrolment of 165 students, 75% of whom identify as Indigenous. The school is part of the Connected Communities strategy and fosters an inclusive and supportive learning environment, supported by our School Reference Group, The AECG, P&C;, Clontarf and NASCA.

Situated on the lands of the Wailwan and Gamilaraay people, Coonamble is located about 160 km north of Dubbo and has a population of around 3,000. The town benefits from a vibrant sporting and community calendar, providing numerous opportunities for students, families, and staff to engage within the community.

The primary focus areas of Coonamble High School’s School Excellence Plan are Student Growth and Attainment, Wellbeing, and Aboriginal Education. The school places a solid emphasis on culturally relevant and appropriate learning experiences and caters to a diverse range of students. Our collaboration with primary partner schools ensures smooth transitions for students entering secondary education. We offer a broad choice of subjects to meet the varied interests and aspirations of our students.

Coonamble High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment, promoting student engagement, and delivering high-quality music education.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, extra-curricular activities, and develop and sustain positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
- Capacity to deliver a variety of contextually relevant and differentiated learning experiences that will result in student growth across the areas of performing, composing, listening and musicology.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies, including the Connected Communities Strategy.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
