About the role
As our Maintenance Officer at Benetas you will be responsible for routine building and grounds maintenance at our Residential Aged Care Home called St Georges, located in Altona Meadows, home to 124 residents. In this role, some of your duties will include:
* Ensuring a safe and attractive living environment to suit the needs of the residents by attending to the maintenance of buildings, ground and utilities
* Identifying and prioritising resident needs to create a more home like environment
* Assisting in the selection of trades people to undertake other specific tasks
* Maintaining a planned preventative program, and ensuring documentation requirements are met
About you
We're looking for someone with:
* Experience in a trade, domestic repair, general handyman, and electronic maintenance management system experience
* Experience in identifying standards as they relate to the provision of building maintenance
* A genuine interest in learning new skills, being outdoors and hands-on who will enjoy chatting with residents
* A commitment to continuous improvement that enhances resident lives
* Certificate / experience in a relevant trade
What we offer:
* Permanent part time position - Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Option to pick up more shifts if willing to travel to other residential aged care homes near by
* $34.86/hour + superannuation + not-for-profit salary packaging up to $18k per annum (reduce tax and increase your take home pay)
