The Opportunity: 12 months (possibility of extension) Full time (hybrid) Melbourne This is an opportunity to join an organisation in the water supply sector Build your portfolio legal career with this well-known business About You: You are an experienced environment and planning lawyer You have experience in administrative law, civil procedure, commercial law, property law, water law and litigation, which would be beneficial You have experience providing advice in response to statutory referrals for planning permit applications and a variety of planning and environment issues You have experience being involved in VCAT cases and are comfortable attending VCAT and Court to assist external legal advisors and counsel, if required You have the ability to work with management and staff to identify, limit, advise on and manage legal risks You have the ability to deal with difficult or abstract technical issues, changing priorities and situations requiring solution by use of judgement You are experienced in drafting and reviewing legal documentation, including management of legal precedents You have the ability to effectively manage and co-ordinate external legal and other professional advisors, as required You have strong technical legal influencing and negotiation skills You have strong legal case management and problem solving skills You are confident and a clear communicator You have the ability to hit the ground running and work closely with a fast paced team You have the ability to work autonomously and prioritise You have a minimum of 6 years' experience You have the ability to understand and adapt to the needs of the business You have a current practising certificate You have the right to live and work in Australia Ashurst Reach: Ashurst Reach is Ashurst's dedicated flexible legal resourcing platform which provides the firm's clients and Practice Groups within the firm with access to a high quality talent pool of lawyers and paralegals.
