Primary objective

Provide travel, planning and administration for delivery of medical services Territory wide.

Context statement

Specialist Outreach Northern Territory (SONT) business unit supports a range of outreach services across the Northern Territory

(NT), funded by both the Commonwealth and NT Health. As part of the SONT team, this position coordinates travel to remote

communities for various visiting specialist teams.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Efficient and effective travel coordination to facilitate medical services across communities and hospitals in the NT, including

planning, liaising, booking, communication, record keeping and processing changes.

2. Communication with a broad range of stakeholders including service providers, clinic staff, travel providers, interpreter services

and Health Service staff.

3. Develop and maintain accurate electronic records and files between several Northern Territory Government (NTG) and 3rd

party systems.

4. Participate in development and maintenance of administrative and operational procedures.

1. Participate in service and financial planning processes, including regular data analysis and reporting activities as required.

2. Follow defined service quality standards relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality travel booking

services.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience in travel coordination, including sound knowledge and understanding of the complexities relating to

remote travel requirements and logistical challenges, including air charter travel movements.

1. Possesses excellent attention to detail with demonstrated competency in the use of online travel management systems and

data management tools, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (including Excel, SharePoint,

Teams, Word etc.)

1. Demonstrated ability to research and analyse information and complex situations, think laterally and apply critical thinking to

identify and recommend alternative options and provide cost efficient solutions.

1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive and effective

working relationships at all levels across the organisation and with external stakeholders in a complex work environment.

1. Ability to understand and comply with funding service agreements and contractual arrangements, ensuring services meet the

guidelines and reporting requirements of Commonwealth funded programs.

1. Self-motivated with initiative and the ability to prioritise workload and provide support to team members.
