Job Summary: The MTSS Behavior Lead helps to support students by leading the implementation of MTSS frameworks with a focus on behavior intervention and positive behavior supports.
The MTSS Behavior Lead collaborates with teachers, admins, school teams and support staff to analyze student data, implement tiered interventions and promote a positive school climate.
Qualifications Required: Must be at least 18 years of age
Associate's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, child development or child-related field Desired Qualifications: At least three years' work experience in an Early Childhood Education/Early Elementary setting.
Experience with Early Childhood Special Education, GSRP, or Head Start programs
Experience with restorative practices and trauma-informed approach
Competent computer and technology based skills (Microsoft Office, email, electronic record keeping, student information systems).
Demonstrated history of strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to support building wide systems for behavior expectations
Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, De-Escalation
Bachelor's Degree or Associates in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or Child Development
Early Childhood Teaching Certificate (ZA or ZS)
Certification as an Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst) or BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analysist).
CPI training preferred Desired Education: Any courses related to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Job Description: Assists Early Childhood (ages 3-6) staff in the development and implementation of tiered behavior supports, plans, and intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students
Shall use developmentally appropriate practices to provide successful academic, social and emotional experiences for all children
Provides support in classrooms by facilitating lessons, providing feedback for staff and behavior supports to align early childhood building goals
Receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies
Generates and accounts for data collection systems to monitor student behaviors, the effectiveness of interventions, and makes modifications as needed
In cooperation with lead teachers, thoroughly documents student behavior, reports to families, and communicates with staff
Supervises students on campus before and after school; monitors students during lunch, recess, passing periods, and other activities; instructs students in an appropriate behavior; disciplines students in accordance with established guidelines
Provides direction to a variety of faculty, staff, and student programs and services; participates in informal classroom visitations and observations regarding behavior and student success in the classroom and provides recommendations and suggestions for support, as appropriate
Participates in Student Support Team meetings, as well as intervention support teams
Ability to manage situations and guide others withthe physical and mental rigors of being a behavior support staff member
Reliable attendance and physical presence are required
Maintain confidentiality for all school/program-related information
Must follow all childcare license rules and regulations, grant funded program rules and regulations, Board policies, administrative regulations, operational procedures, and labor agreements
Perform other duties as required by the building Principal and Mason Public Schools Physical Requirements and Work Environment This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking
The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day
Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with some travel to other schools or field trip locations
Implement crisis interventions, which can include lifting (up to 50 pounds), implementing physical intervention strategies, and managing escalated student behaviors.

Schedule: Position begins 2025-2026 School Year, 8:30am-2:45pm, 6.25 hrs daily, Monday-Friday, Occasional Evening events/meetings or professional development
