Planning Manager Join a leading Australian retailer as our new Planning Manager and play a key role in driving sales, profitability, and process excellence across a diverse and dynamic product range. About the Role As our Planning Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end merchandise planning across multiple product departments. You’ll lead a team of Planners, Assistant Planners and Allocators to build data-driven Bottom Up sales forecasts, optimise stock levels, and drive margin and sell-through performance. You’ll work closely with Buying, Visual Merchandising, Operations, and the Distribution Centre to ensure the right product is in the right place, at the right time — all while supporting our broader commercial strategy. This role suits a confident leader with deep planning experience, strong commercial acumen, and a proven ability to lead and develop teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver strategic merchandise and financial plans aligned with company goals. Oversee seasonal planning, range development, and forecasting across core and promotional ranges. Lead weekly sales reviews, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving decisions that impact sales and inventory performance. Coach and mentor a teams across the planning and allocations, and function. Guide store option planning, gridding, and product mix to optimise both space and sales potential. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve merchandise flow, store performance, and system efficiency. Drive process improvement across planning tools, reporting, and inventory movement. About You 5 years' experience in merchandise planning, with at least 2 years in a senior or management role. Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in team development and coaching. Commercial mindset with deep analytical ability and a results-oriented approach. Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced retail environment. Strong understanding of product lifecycles, inventory management, and promotional planning. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
