The Role Our client is a well-established, family-owned stud Angus operation that is currently seeking a skilled individual to join their dedicated team as a Maintenance and Infrastructure Overseer. This unique opportunity is situated on a vast property that spans an impressive 8,000 acres and is home to approximately 2,000 breeding cows and 1,000 bulls. The operation is renowned for its progressive methods and innovative practices, making it a respected leader in the agricultural industry.The property is equipped with a variety of essential infrastructure features, including two sets of existing cattle yards and electric fencing designed for efficient cell grazing paddocks. Moreover, the property boasts a great water system that supports both livestock and the overall functioning of the farm.As the Maintenance and Infrastructure Overseer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing upkeep of the current infrastructure. This includes regular maintenance tasks, as well as leading projects aimed at installing new infrastructure to enhance farm operations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a skilled offsider when necessary, and you may occasionally oversee and work alongside contractors to facilitate larger projects.In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will be expected to collaborate closely with the Assistant Manager to ensure that all farm vehicles are maintained in optimal condition and have up-to-date service records. This will involve routine inspections and scheduling maintenance as needed; however, you will not be expected to service vehicles yourself. Furthermore, you will take responsibility for maintaining an organised inventory of tools and equipment essential for your tasks, ensuring that everything you need is readily available for efficient workflow.While prior stock experience is not a prerequisite for this position, a genuine enjoyment of working in a farm environment is essential.
