About the role

Parliament of Tasmania offers a supportive environment to enable our employees to do the best work of their career. We're looking to secure a new Electorate Officer for the Independent Member for Montgomery.

As a trusted colleague, you'll have professional flexibility to perform the role whilst being empowered to build a sense of community at work. The Electorate Officer will work closely with the Hon Casey Hiscutt MLC in managing his electorate office and will provide high level of administration, research, and community and parliamentary support. Confidentiality is paramount and strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

About Us

The Parliament of Tasmania is a meeting place where elected representatives meet to make laws, authorise the expenditure of public funds, scrutinise the government of the day, and give a voice to their constituents in the electorates. The Parliament is made up of three (3) separate Departments consisting of House of Assembly, Legislative Council, and Legislature - General.

Location

We foster a collaborative and engaging workplace. As such, this role is required to be performed in person and on site in Ulverstone.

* Excellent time management skills including demonstrated ability to prioritise, plan and organise work, exercise initiative, and appropriately apply judgement to ensure delivery to deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Capacity to seek out information and formulate advice on a range of issues.
