Telehealth Medical Receptionist

Role Overview
The Telehealth Medical Receptionist is responsible for managing patient bookings, coordinating virtual appointments, and providing administrative support for telehealth services. This role is the first point of contact for patients and ensures a smooth, professional experience before, during, and after consultations. Initial training will be provided and then a hybrid role can be discussed.
Key Responsibilities
* Schedule and manage telehealth appointments for patients and clinicians
* Answer phone calls, emails, and online inquiries in a professional manner
* Send appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups
* Maintain and update patient records in systems
* Process billing and payments
* Liaise with healthcare providers to coordinate schedules
* Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Previous experience as a medical receptionist, admin assistant, or customer service representative
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to multitask and manage bookings efficiently
* Basic computer skills (email, scheduling systems, data entry)
* Professional phone manner and customer-focused attitude
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in a GP clinic, specialist practice, or telehealth environment
* Familiarity with CRM or equivalent
* Understanding of healthcare privacy standards
* Understanding of APHRA regulations
Working Hours
* Flexible shifts (weekday clinics + occasional evenings)
