Building Assessment Coordinator
Permanent full-time position

We have the opportunity for a Building Assessment Coordinator to join our Planning and Development team and in this role you will:
* Ensure the efficient processing of Development Applications, Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Compliance Certificates
* Assist Council in meeting its statutory obligations under the EP&A Act 1979, and the LG Act
* Ensure a professional & efficient delivery of building inspection services and development control of all building Classes as defined under the National Construction Code Series.

* Commencing annual salary from $100,431 to $110,725
(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)

What you'll need to be successful in the role...
It's essential that you have:
* Qualifications in building construction & inspection and accreditation as a Building surveyor – preferably unrestricted (formally A1 or A5) or Building surveyor – restricted (all classes of building) (formally A2) as defined by the NSW Fair Trading
* A minimum Class C Drivers Licence
* Experience assessing and determining Development Applications and issuing notices and orders
* Experience assessing and determining Construction Certificates and Complying Development Certificates under the Construction Code Series
* Experience in gathering evidence for successful legal proceedings
* Excellent communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus
* Project Management experience including research, planning, report writing and organisational skills
* Experience using MS Office suite.
While not essential, it would be beneficial to have:
* Experience working in a Local Government environment
* Presentation and group facilitation skills
* Experience supervising a team and supporting individuals to resolve technical issues, while promoting innovation and improvement.
