We are searching for a Data Modeller to join our Queensland Government client on an initial 9-month contract. The role requires a proactive approach to seek innovative, best-practice solutions in developing ELT pipelines, data models, and other analytical deliverables. In line with technological advancements, the role will also take on a mentoring and development responsibilities for team members, to ensure data services are sustainable into the future.
The Role
The Data Modeller is required to:
* Design and implement ELT (Extract, Load and Transform) upon SAP HANA and XSA.
* Develop and improve data cleansing, standardisation, and data matching functions using SAP Smart Data Integration (SDI) and Smart Data Quality (SDQ).
* Design and implement Slow Changing Dimensions (SCD) in ELT.
* Monitor ELT and modelling data flows, diagnose defects, resolve issues promptly, and perform data hotfix when needed.
* Support integration testing, user testing, incident resolution, and business inquiries.
* Maintain and improve existing ELT and data modelling.
* Contribute towards a positive, participative and supportive culture and build and maintain strong working relationships with officers other agencies.
* Train up and handover to existing staff and document to an acceptable standard.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, the Worker should have the following skills and experience:
* Development skills using HANA 2.0 CDS, including calculation view, table function, procedures, etc. Seasoned skills of building ELT using SAP HANA Smart Data Integrator (SDI) and SAP HANA Smart Data Quality (SDQ), and experience of implementing SCD Type 2 using SDI/SDQ functionalities.
* Experience in ELT maintenance, improvement, and operation.
* Project experience in designing, building, and optimising ELT and data models in SAP HANA by applying constraint and other techniques.
* Strong SQL knowledge and experience to support comprehensive modelling.
* Security design in SAP HANA and XSA HDI container.
* Attention to detail, precision, and able to troubleshoot data quality issues.
* Professional presentation and communication skills, as well as the capability to deliver technical documentation.
