Overview
Position: Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) – Registered Nurse Grade 5 under the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
Department: Department of Health, Hospitals & Primary Care – Launceston General Hospital, located on Charles Street, Launceston.
Employment type: Fixed‐term, part‐time shift worker (fully rotational) – up to 64 hours per fortnight.
Term: 19 July 2026 to 12 September 2027.
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (pro‐rata) with 12% superannuation contribution.
Responsibilities
* Work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and senior staff to ensure efficient, effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
* Assist the NUM with planning and management of staff and resources and provide operational leadership through coordination of day‐to‐day patient care activities.
* Demonstrate an understanding of the business of the unit/service, patient flow principles and discharge planning to achieve optimal outcomes within available resources.
* Act as a role model, providing clinical leadership and serving as a clinical resource for staff.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate complex care and ensure safe admissions and discharges of inpatients.
Qualifications
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Experience in acute medical care and operational leadership.
* Desirable postgraduate qualifications.
