About The Role

Based in our Rhodes office, the Commercial Manager at Akura is instrumental in driving the financial and contractual success of our industrial construction projects. This role oversees contract risk, budget management, and procurement strategies to ensure strong commercial outcomes. You will lead and support the Contracts Administration team, fostering consistency, compliance, and commercial discipline across all projects from early planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Contracts & Risk

* Prepare risk plans and review head contracts at tender stage.
* Ensure compliance with contract obligations and assist with client notices (e.g. EOTs, RFIs, variations).
* Draft subcontract special conditions to align with head contracts.
* Maintain contract and security registers and support timely bond release.
* Review contracts with the Sales team and provide risk matrixes.

Subcontract Management

* Ensure subcontractor insurances and SOPA payment schedules are compliant.
* Manage final account settlements and deeds of release.

Leadership & Team Support

* Lead, mentor, and manage Contracts Administrators across projects.
* Conduct performance reviews and drive a culture of accountability.
* Train staff in systems such as Procore, Premier, and MS Project.
* Drive team development via EOS (L10s, quarterly conversations, planning).

Budgets & Procurement

* Consolidate tender info into budget templates and finalise project budgets.
* Review subcontractor lettings and payment terms to ensure alignment with budgets and risk profiles.

Financial Oversight

* Lead monthly financial reviews and track project performance.
* Ensure timely invoicing, progress claims, and clean project close-outs.
* Support commercial improvement initiatives and GP gains.

Safety & Compliance

* Ensure subcontractor HSEQ compliance and address safety risks appropriately.

About You

As a detail-oriented and passionate Commercial Manager with a construction background, you bring extensive experience managing large-scale industrial and commercial construction projects. You have a strong track record of delivering results on time without compromising quality. This role calls for a confident leader who can guide teams, make strategic decisions, and cultivate a collaborative culture that drives project success. You can demonstrate:

* Commercial & contractual expertise – ability to analyse and manage contracts, negotiate terms, and identify risks and opportunities.
* Financial literacy – ability to manage budgets, track margin, forecast costs, and report project performance.
* Leadership & mentoring – experience managing and developing a team, conducting reviews, and improving capability.
* Problem-solving – proactive in identifying risks and implementing commercial strategies.
* Attention to detail – critical for contract reviews, compliance tracking, and financial oversight.
* Communication & negotiation – confident in working with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to resolve issues and protect company interests.
