About this role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Employment Support Officer. As part of this role, you will play a vital part in empowering people with disability to succeed in the workplace.
This includes supporting individuals who are currently employed, those who have recently secured a job, and those whose employment may be at risk due to the impact of their disability.
You will provide tailored support for participants undertaking Work Experience Placements and Work Trials, ensuring they have the tools and guidance needed to thrive in their roles.
Your work will be aligned with the principles and practices of Disability Employment Services (DES), helping participants build sustainable employment pathways and achieve their career goals.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position based at our office.
As an Employment Support Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing individualized support for customers based on their Job Plan, ensuring their needs for support such as transport and skills training are met
* Identifying priority customers and implementing agreed responsibilities according to the Job Plan to maintain their employment
* Updating Job Plans and maintaining customer documentation and records to the required standard
* Liaising with employers, customer families, and co-workers to maintain satisfactory job requirements
* Actively contributing to ensure consistency and excellence in all services including achievement of employment goals and program success
* Participating in professional service development sessions and operational planning
* Assisting and complying with the compilation of work procedures and instructions and keeping them relevant to the quality system
Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
* A relevant post-secondary or tertiary qualification
* Experience providing direct support and assistance to people, in disability or Government funded employment services
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to tailor communication styles to audience
* High level of priority management and problem-solving skills
* Ability to demonstrate understanding of the National Standards for Disability Services, the philosophy of Community Inclusion and the practice of actively supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals
* Current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, Current Driver's Licence, NDIS Workers Orientation Module, NDIS Worker Screening check and COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
