We're partnering with Wellways and Clarity Health Care to open the Western NSW Medicare Mental Health Centre in Dubbo and Bathurst. This centre is part of Australia's reformed mental health and wellbeing system, supported by funding from Western NSW Primary Health Network through the Australian Government's PHN Program.
The centre will provide a free, safe and welcoming space for the community to access mental health advice, supports and services. Walk-ins are welcomed, and all services are confidential, requiring no appointment or referral.

Role Overview:
The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Clinician will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing focused psychological strategies tailored to meet the individual needs of people accessing the service within a community-based mental health care setting.
1. Provide comprehensive assessment, brief and ongoing interventions, risk management and care planning
2. Work collaboratively across health service networks to plan and coordinate individualised psychosocial interventions to meet the needs of people with mental health issues based on a case formulation approach
3. Participate actively within the multidisciplinary mental health team, profession specific network, and with consumers, families/carers, and extended agencies
Requirements:
* Must have one of the following: General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist OR Mental Health Nurse OR AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
* Demonstrated expertise in Brief Intervention Models of Care
* Commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in a continuous learning environment
* Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding of assessment and care planning
* A sound understanding of the public, non-government, and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting
* Ideal experience in providing alcohol and other drugs (AOD) counselling and support
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness
* Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a member of a team
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks
* Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
* Eligibility for WWCC and NDIS worker screening clearance
