Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Clayton, VIC
Shift: Morning shift - flexible start times available
Rate: $40 - $45 per hour + super (casual rate)
Terms: Casual ongoing - Temp to perm opportunities
About the Role
Our client in Clayton is currently seeking an experienced Production Operator / Machine Setter to join their team. This is a hands-on role operating and setting a range of production machinery used in the manufacture of wire thread insert fastening systems.
You will report directly to the Production Supervisor and be part of a friendly, high-performing production team.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing machinery in line with SOPs
- Prepare tooling (mandrels, cutters) using hand tools and bench-top equipment
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Ensure all safety and quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean and safe work setting
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set machinery within tight tolerances
- Basic computer skills and high attention to detail
- Proactive, reliable, and punctual with solid work ethic
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Certificate III in Process Manufacturing (highly desirable)
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
