Superior Cranes provides mobile crane services from yards in Brisbane and Wagga Wagga. The NSW operations focus mainly on major projects supporting operations such as HumeLink West, Inland Rail, Snow Hydro and Construction and Shutdown Projects for companies such as Evolution Mining, Visy, John Holland, CPB, Transgrid and Ventia.
Superior Cranes has been operating for fifteen years, it started with the current owner buying a second hand Franna and taking it out to work on the Gladstone pipeline in 2010. Superior Cranes is now seeking an experienced Crane Supervisor to work from our Wagga Wagga yard servicing a wide range of projects, mostly within a two hour drive of Wagga. While the City of Wagga Wagga provides a great lifestyle, especially for families with nine high schools, Charles Sturt University, first class sporting facilities and a wide array of medical services and social activities, we are happy to be flexible on living arrangements and will consider FIFO options for the right applicant.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in crane operations or supervision.
Multiple crane endorsements and certifications are required for this position.
About the Role:
Leadership and organisational skills are essential qualities with demonstrated Mobile Crane Supervisor experience. The role will be to lead, organise and supervise field operations and crane crews ensuring safe driving and efficient operations, and building strong site and client relationships. Duties include:
* Lead and support operational teams of crane operators and riggers, including both permanent Wagga based operators and FIFO shift operators.
* Work closely with Project Supervisors to coordinate all activities and ensure smooth operations across all sites.
* Maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact.
* Ensure maintenance and care of machinery, all being maintained to the highest standard
* Promote a strong work ethic and ensure all crane crews work safely and meet both client and company KPIs.
* Oversee accurate data entry into safety and operational systems.
* Participate in performance assessments and identify training or development needs.
* Attend regular operational meetings to maintain alignment on priorities.
* Ensure compliance with all company, client, and site procedures.
* Represent Superior Cranes as the high performance team that we strive to be, and be an active and respected part of the project lifting work in southern NSW
Skills & experience:
* Demonstrated mobile crane supervision and leadership experience.
* Team leader experience in supervisory or leadership roles is essential.
* Strong hands-on understanding of crane crew management and field operations.
* Ability to react and thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
* Proven ability to build trust and communicate effectively with crews and clients.
* Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills and an ability to become part of the Superior management team.
* Solid computer literacy.
* Australian citizenship is required for this position.
* Construction, mining or logistics industry experience is required.
