Bankwest's Technology Division develops and executes all technical change within the organisation ensuring the leverage of technology to deliver the Bankwest strategy. The Division works on a wide variety of technologies and projects with the support of a dedicated team in an Agile methodology. Our team is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of the bank – from product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business.
We're Interested In Hearing From People Who
* Design, build, and maintain production-grade software systems in modern languages.
* Implement automation frameworks for UI, API, performance, integration, and security testing.
* Drive shift-left practices: embedding unit, integration, and contract tests into CI/CD pipelines.
* Collaborate with the team to ensure testability, observability, and resilience in system design.
* Drive the quality strategy within their squad ensuring alignment with engineering and product goals.
* Mentor grads & engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and accountability.
* Establish engineering dashboards that provide visibility into delivery quality and production health.
* Continuously learn and grow across coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
* Take end-to-end ownership of features: from design → code → testing → deployment → monitoring.
Technical Skills
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
* Good programming skills in one or more languages e.g. C#/.NET, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
* Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., TeamCity, GitHub, Jenkins)
* Good understanding of API testing, microservices, and cloud-native architectures (preferably AWS).
* Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Observe, CloudWatch)
* Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Devtest, Appium, Sahi).
* Solid grasp of DevSecOps, SDLC best practices, and release governance.
* Use of AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Roo code) to accelerate everyday development/testing tasks.
