About the Role
The Managing Editor is responsible for producing content and managing the editorial process throughout the organisation. The role is also responsible for organising team workplace processes to ensure team compliance with all organisation style guides and providing publishing and editorial support to different business areas.
Key responsibilities include:
• Work collaboratively with a team of professional academic writers and program developers (authors) to produce lesson storyboards for a series of training modules that are being developed for the Mastery Teaching Pathway.
• Format, edit and proof lesson storyboards to ensure writing is accurate and consistent with GGSA's style and branding guidelines, and meets the content requirements of the MTP digital lessons.
• Edit content written by a team of authors to achieve a consistent voice throughout all of our lessons that is succinct and pitched at an appropriate level of complexity for our audience.
• Champion best practice in grammar and style, ensuring that all content is culturally appropriate and reflects the objectives, scope and overall intention of the training program.
• Implement the review, endorsement and sign off feedback loop between the authors, client, product manager, graphic designers, and training content producers.
• Oversee the management of writing templates, style guides, process flows across the organisation.
• Own and manage GGSA's curriculum and training publishing program and work with other business units to develop forward planning, managing schedules and deadlines in line with company objectives
• Review and edit all print and digital curriculum and training materials
• Endorse all materials before publication
Essential Selection Criteria
* Relevant qualification in professional writing, editing and publishing, or other relevant field and/or demonstrated relevant experience
* Experience working with educational or academic content written by subject matter experts in a university or publishing environment
* Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite
* Exceptional attention to detail, effective planning and prioritisation, organisational and time management skills.
* Commitment to the values and behaviours of GGSA
* Possess a Blue Card (or if successful provide evidence of obtaining/applying prior to commencement)
* Evidence of a successfully completed Police Check
