Senior Business Analyst – Financial Services (must have experience)
Fixed term contract (12 months) | Melbourne (Hybrid)
We're working with a leading financial services organisation undergoing a major transformation across registry, portal, and data platforms. They're looking for a Senior Business Analyst with strong data and integration experience to support complex change across portals, ETL and straight-through processing streams.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who's comfortable operating at the intersection of business, data, and technology, and who can confidently translate technical impacts into clear business outcomes.
What you'll be doing
* Leading end-to-end requirements elicitation, including user stories and acceptance criteria
* Analysing and documenting business rules, impacts, and downstream dependencies
* Performing data analysis and profiling to support migration and transformation activities
* Supporting ETL and QA streams across portals, ETL and STP workflows
* Building and maintaining traceability matrices across portals and ETL
* Triaging and analysing defects, and clearly articulating technical impacts to business stakeholders
* Supporting API integration mapping, including exposure to webMethods and YAML specifications
* Delivering process mapping and solution documentation
* Working closely with developers and testers to clarify requirements and data flows
* Managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including vendors
* Producing high-quality artefacts using JIRA, Confluence and Visio
What we're looking for
* Strong experience as a Senior Business Analyst in complex, regulated environments
* Solid SQL capability (comfortable understanding joins and data relationships)
* Proven experience working across portal, integration and ETL initiatives
* Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders
* Excellent problem‐solving and communication skills
Domain experience (must have)
* Experience with financial registry systems
* Strong understanding of client, product and relationship structures
* Knowledge of owner and role linkages such as Trustees, Power of Attorney, Beneficiaries, Nominees and Guardians
Nice to have
* Understanding of data models
* Experience with Appian or similar case management / portal platforms
* Knowledge of compliance expectations around access control, impersonation, deceased handling, audit logging and third‐party authority validation
* Exposure to Salesforce entity models and identity mapping
* Business Requirements Specifications for Portals and ETL
* Traceability Matrix across Portals and ETL
* Gap analysis of end‐of‐life registries being decommissioned, including migration of Principal and OneVue data into GARDIN via ETL
* Identification of new scenarios driven by differing registry structures and product logic
