THE ROLE
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to provide legal advice and support to the Commercial Law team within a Commonwealth Department's Legal Division.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will have experience providing complex specialist legal advice on commercial law matters and providing second counselling of commercial legal advice drafted by junior legal officers.
Experience in the following areas would be highly desirable:
* negotiating and drafting in complex commercial matters;
* advising on commercial issues including rights and obligations under contract or deed arrangements;
* commercial procurement, including Commonwealth procurement processes and government panel arrangements;
* commercial disputes; and
* intellectual property.
THE REQUIREMENTS
Experience working on a range of commercial law matters relevant to the Commonwealth relating to the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (Cth) would be highly regarded.
Legal qualifications, a TSPV clearance and a practicing certificate (or the ability to obtain one) is essential.
