Location: Hobart, TAS 7000

Established longline company working the Australian Fishing Zones seeks the following fulltime fishing industry positions: Ships Master, Ships Engineer, Master Fisher, Ships Officer, Deckhands & Fishing Hands, Seafood Processors.

We maintain a drug & alcohol‑free workplace; employees may be subject to random drug & alcohol testing. This is a condition of employment.


Positions and Experience Requirements

* Ship's Master – Minimum 5 years relevant experience; must hold appropriate license or registration.
* Ships Engineer (Fishing) – Minimum 5 years relevant experience; license required.
* Master Fisher – Minimum 5 years relevant experience; license required.
* Ship's Officer – Minimum 5 years relevant experience; license required.
* Deck and Fishing Hands – At least 1 year Australian work experience, preferably in catching and handling crab, evidenced by sea‑time or log book. Verifiable references acceptable.

All positions require verifiable references and strong suitability for working on deck in heavy seas. Ranked positions may involve managing fishing operations aboard vessel in consultation with company owners.

Use of travel across locations as operational requirements. Away from home for several days or occasionally weeks.


Salaries (Industry Standards)

* Ship's Master: $120,000.00 or greater, subject to negotiation.
* Ships Engineer (Fishing): $72,000 to $82,000.
* Master Fisher: $75,000 to $82,000.
* Ship's Officer: $72,000 to $82,000.
* Deck and Fishing Hands: $68,800 to $78,000+.
* Seafood Processors: $68,800 to $78,000+ plus superannuation guarantee.


Seafood Processors (Fulltime and Seasonal)

* Minimum 2 years experience as a seafood processor with verifiable references.
* Assist in unloading fresh seafood from vessels.
* Move seafood to chillers, freezers, live tanks.
* Sort, dress, fillet fish with high recovery rate.
* Clean and retrieve meat from shellfish and crustaceans.
* Load seafood into trucks.
* Pack boned and filleted seafood into cartons.
* Inspect and grade fish and shellfish for size and quality.
* Pack fish before freezing and packing frozen fish blocks into cartons.
* Operate machines that slice, peel, skin, crumble and package seafood.
* Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
* Ensure all workplace safety regulations are complied with.
